It has been a few months now since the lockdown was first imposed in India. Different states have eased or tightened the rules of entry into the state depending on their individual situations. Considering the current travel restrictions, a lot of people are wondering how they can get to their luxury villas in Goa during the lockdown and take a long-awaited holiday in the outdoors and by the pool or the beach. 

Here are a few tips that you should bear in mind if you want to get into Goa in the coming days:

Tests

Whether you are traveling by road, rail, or air, you will have to submit a self-declaration form and you will be screened with a thermal scanner at the point of entry.

If you are symptomatic or have a history of international travel you will be tested and sent to an appointed isolation unit to be quarantined until your results are available. Although it would be good practice not to travel if you are unwell as you wouldn’t want to spend two weeks missing out on all the amazing things you would have done on your holiday. 

 If you are asymptomatic you have the following options to choose from:

1. Get yourself tested for Covid 19 at your point of origin at an ICMR-approved laboratory. You should get your results no more than forty-eight hours before you enter Goa.

2. If you haven’t got a test done, you can get your tests done in Goa at the designated collection centers for the cost of two thousand rupees. You will be able to check into your accommodation but need to take proper precautions like self-isolation until the results are available which is usually in a couple of days. If you are negative then your holiday has begun and you can enjoy Goa during the monsoons, if your test is positive you will be unfortunately sent to institutional quarantine. 

Stay

You have to pre-book your hotel or luxury villa in Goa before you commence your travel. Only select hotels have been approved, you can access the list at www.goatourism.gov.in and www.goa-tourism.com . This will be checked at the point of entry so keep your documentation handy. If you own a luxury villa or property in Goa you do not have to show hotel booking documentation.
